Occupational performance coaching (OPC) is an intervention that targets participatory goals in child performance through coaching parents, with evidence of effectiveness for pediatric populations. Little is known about the feasibility of OPC in Hong Kong, or its effect on children's community participation and HRQOL. A mixed-methods case study design was applied to explore Hong Kong parents' experience of OPC in relation to goal achievement, community participation, and HRQOL change in children. Four parents of young children with developmental disabilities (aged five to six years) received OPC for three to eight sessions within one to three months. Quantitative pre- and post-intervention data were analyzed descriptively. Semi-structured interviews with parents were conducted at post-intervention, and analyzed using content analysis. Results showed a trend of improvement in goal performance, child involvement in community activities, and specific aspects of HRQOL among most participants. Parents perceived undertaking OPC positively, described gaining insights and skills, and felt supported. The findings suggest that OPC warrants further investigation for use in Hong Kong, to promote children's community participation and quality of life.Peripheral nerve injury after shoulder trauma is an underestimated complication. The distribution of the affected nerves has been reported to be heterogeneous in previous studies. This study aimed to describe the distribution of peripheral nerve injuries in patients with a history of shoulder trauma who were referred to a tertiary care electrodiagnostic laboratory. A retrospective chart review was performed for all cases referred to a tertiary care electrodiagnostic laboratory between March 2012 and February 2020. The inclusion criteria were a history of shoulder trauma and electrodiagnostic evidence of nerve injury. Data on patient demographics, mechanism of injury, degree of weakness, clinical outcomes at the final follow-up, and electrodiagnostic results were retrieved from medical records. Fifty-six patients had peripheral nerve injuries after shoulder trauma. Overall, isolated axillary nerve injury was the most common. A brachial plexus lesion affecting the supraclavicular branches (pan-brachial plexus and upper trunk brachial plexus lesions) was the second most common injury. In cases of shoulder dislocation and proximal humerus fracture, isolated axillary nerve injury was the most common. Among acromioclavicular joint injuries and clavicular fractures, lower trunk brachial plexus injuries and ulnar neuropathy were more common than axillary nerve or upper trunk brachial plexus injuries. Patients with isolated axillary nerve lesions showed a relatively good recovery; those with pan-brachial plexus injuries showed a poor recovery. Our study demonstrated the distribution of peripheral nerve injuries remote from displaced bony structures. Mechanisms other than direct compression by displaced bony structures might be involved in nerve injuries associated with shoulder trauma. Electrodiagnostic tests are useful for determining the extent of nerve damage after shoulder trauma.Image inpainting networks can produce visually reasonable results in the damaged regions. However, existing inpainting networks may fail to reconstruct the proper structures or tend to generate the results with color discrepancy. To solve this issue, this paper proposes an image inpainting approach using the proposed two-stage loss function. The loss function consists of different Gaussian kernels, which are utilized in different stages of network. The use of our two-stage loss function in coarse network helps to focus on the image structure, while the use of it in refinement network is helpful to restore the image details. Moreover, we proposed a global and local PatchGANs (GAN means generative adversarial network), named GL-PatchGANs, in which the global and local markovian discriminators were used to control the final results. This is beneficial to focus on the regions of interest (ROI) on different scales and tends to produce more realistic structural and textural details. We trained our network on three popular datasets on image inpainting separately, both Peak Signal to Noise ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity (SSIM) between our results, and ground truths on test images show that our network can achieve better performance compared with the recent works in most cases.
