4% even after 300 cycles and large reversible capacity of ∼160 mA h g-1 at 5 C. The functional electrolyte offers a simple, efficient, and scalable method to promote the electrochemical properties and applicability of high-Ni oxide cathodes in high-energy lithium-ion batteries.Functional porous materials show extensive applications in the environment, biology, aerospace, and so on. In this work, the generation of silica foams and functionalization of pore surface were simultaneously realized through an interfacial sol-gel reaction within high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) microreactors, where a hyperbranched polyethoxysiloxane (PEOS) was used as the sole stabilizer for the HIPEs. With various functional substances containing amino, epoxy, and carboxyl groups initially dissolved in the aqueous phase of HIPEs, these functional groups could be grafted onto the pore surface in the process of forming silica foams. Amino-functionalized silica foam showed fast adsorption of sunset yellow, and the adsorption capacity could reach as high as 1213.13 mg/g. Sodium polyacrylate-modified silica foam exhibited good adsorption capacity of cationic dyes and metal ions, e.g., 280.11 mg/g to methylene and 226.24 mg/g to Cu(II). Epoxy-functionalized silica foam particles were confirmed with a pronounced activity at the oil/water interface due to their Janus-like surface, which could be used as Pickering stabilizer. This HIPE-based synthesis strategy for silica foams shows promising future in adsorption, emulsion stabilization, and compatibilization.A porous cationic Ag(I) coordination polymer, [Ag(1,2,4,5-p4b)](SbF6) (TJNU-302) with the ligand 1,2,4,5-p4b (1,2,4,5-tetra(pyridin-4-yl)benzene), is reported that shows high sorption capacity (211 mg g-1) and distribution coefficient Kd (5.8 × 105 mL g-1) as well as outstanding selectivity in 500 times excess of CO32- or PO43- anion for perrhenate removal. TJNU-302 can act as a crystalline turn-off sensor for perrhenate upon UV radiation. In this way, a test paper strip for sensing ReO4- could be produced. In water solution, TJNU-302 shows an efficient fluorescence quenching response to ReO4- ion, with the highest quenching percentage (86%) among all reported ReO4- sensors. These results could be elucidated by the bonding properties of single-crystal structures of TJNU-302 before and after perrhenate sorption, as well as density functional theory (DFT) calculations.Non-aqueous redox flow batteries (RFBs) are promising energy storage devices owing to the broad electrochemical window of organic solvents. Nonetheless, the wide application of these batteries has been limited by the low stability and limited solubility of organic materials, as well as the insufficient ion conductivity of the cell separators in non-aqueous electrolytes. In this study, two viologen analogues with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) tails are designed as anolytes for non-aqueous RFBs. The PEGylation of viologen not only enhances the solubility in acetonitrile but also increases the overall molecular size for alleviated crossover. In addition, a composite nanoporous aramid nanofiber separator, which allows the permeation of supporting ions while inhibiting the crossover of the designer viologens, is developed using a scalable doctor-blading method. Paired with ferrocene, the full organic material-based RFB presents excellent cyclability (500 cycles) with a retention capacity per cycle of 99.93% and an average Coulombic efficiency of 99.3% at a current density of 2.0 mA/cm2. The high performance of the PEGylated viologen validates the potential of the PEGylation strategy for enhanced organic material-based non-aqueous RFBs.Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting has been considered as the future technology for storing solar energy in the chemical bonds. However, due to the search of ideal heterostructured materials for photoanode/cathode, the full potential of this technology has not been realized yet. Herein we present, the nanotextured hexagonal microwell of p-GaN [p-GaN(Et)] synthesized via wet chemical etching route as a photocathode (PC) for PEC water splitting. The p-GaN(Et) was further modified by interconnected nanowall network of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (MoS2) [2D-MoS2/p-GaN(Et)]. Both PCs were characterized for their morphology, structures, and optical and electronic properties. The overall PEC performance was validated through photocurrent values followed by the amount of hydrogen and oxygen evolution. This combination of 2D-MoS2/p-GaN(Et) outplayed pristine p-GaN(Et) by several orders of magnitude in overall PEC performance. read more The extraordinary stability under a continuous operating condition with 1 sun illumination (100 mW/cm2) provides the much-needed flavor of an efficient photocathode. The optimized photocathode [2D-MoS2/p-GaN(Et)] shows the highest applied bias photon-to-current conversion efficiency of ∼3.18% with hydrogen evolution rate of 89.56 μmol/h at -0.3 V vs RHE. This wafer-level cost-effective synthesis of 2D-MoS2/GaN heterostructure based PCs opens a new way for large-scale solar-fuel conversion.Patients who have experienced an acute coronary syndrome should be evaluated in the office setting soon after hospital discharge. First follow-up appointments more than 6 weeks after discharge reduce adherence to therapy. Care coordinator involvement is helpful and associated with lower readmission and mortality rates. Postdischarge care should focus on blood pressure and lipid management with diet and drugs (all patients should be taking high-intensity statins if tolerated), along with antiplatelet therapy, including dual antiplatelet therapy if a stent was placed. Dual antiplatelet therapy should be continued for at least 12 months. Anticoagulation with low-dose rivaroxaban can be considered in addition to dual antiplatelet therapy, even if there is no other indication for anticoagulation therapy, if the patient has a low bleeding risk. Beta blockers should be taken for 3 years in patients with a normal left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and indefinitely if LVEF is less than 40%. Patents with low LVEF also should take angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.
