MSI1 and YTHDF1 were shown to be positively correlated in clinical glioma samples, and their concomitant upregulation was associated with decreased survival of glioma patients. We identified the direct regulation of YTHDF1 by MSI1. Given the fact that both proteins are master regulators of gene expression, and both of them are unfavorable factors in GBM, we suggest that in any future studies aimed to uncover the prognostic value and therapy potential, these two proteins should be considered together.Given the fact that both proteins are master regulators of gene expression, and both of them are unfavorable factors in GBM, we suggest that in any future studies aimed to uncover the prognostic value and therapy potential, these two proteins should be considered together. Cholera epidemics continue to challenge disease control, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected states. Rapid detection and response to small cholera clusters is key for efficient control before an epidemic propagates. To understand the capacity for early response in fragile states, we investigated delays in outbreak detection, investigation, response, and laboratory confirmation, and we estimated epidemic sizes. We assessed predictors of delays, and annual changes in response time. We compiled a list of cholera outbreaks in fragile and conflict-affected states from 2008 to 2019. We searched for peer-reviewed articles and epidemiological reports. We evaluated delays from the dates of symptom onset of the primary case, and the earliest dates of outbreak detection, investigation, response, and confirmation. Information on how the outbreak was alerted was summarized. A branching process model was used to estimate epidemic size at each delay. Regression models were used to investigate the association bion, rapid diagnostic testing for cluster validation, and integrated alert, investigation, and response. In vivo assessment of neuroinflammation by 18-kDa translocator protein positron-emission-tomography (TSPO-PET) ligands receives growing interest in preclinical and clinical research of neurodegenerative disorders. Higher TSPO-PET binding as a surrogate for microglial activation in females has been reported for cognitively normal humans, but such effects have not yet been evaluated in rodent models of neurodegeneration and their controls. Thus, we aimed to investigate the impact of sex on microglial activation in amyloid and tau mouse models and wild-type controls. TSPO-PET ( F-GE-180) data of C57Bl/6 (wild-type), App (β-amyloid model), and P301S (tau model) mice was assessed longitudinally between 2 and 12 months of age. The App group also underwent longitudinal β-amyloid-PET imaging (Aβ-PET; F-florbetaben). PET results were confirmed and validated by immunohistochemical investigation of microglial (Iba-1, CD68), astrocytic (GFAP), and tau (AT8) markers. Berzosertib clinical trial Findings in cerebral cortex were compared bymicroglia activation in aging and in response to amyloidosis but not in response to tau pathology. This calls for consideration of sex difference in TSPO-PET studies of microglial activation in mouse models of neurodegeneration and by extension in human studies.Female mice indicate sex-dependent microglia activation in aging and in response to amyloidosis but not in response to tau pathology. This calls for consideration of sex difference in TSPO-PET studies of microglial activation in mouse models of neurodegeneration and by extension in human studies. Childhood obesity persists as a serious public health problem. In the current meta-analysis, we summarized the results of controlled trials that evaluated the effect of obesity prevention policies in children and adolescents. Three databases (SCOPUS, PubMed and Embase) were searched for studies published before the 6th April 2020, by reported outcome measures of body mass index (BMI) and BMI-Z . Forty-seven studies reported BMI, while 45 studies reported BMI-Z as final outcome. The results showed that the obesity-prevention policies had significant effect in reducing BMI (WMD -0.127; CI -0.198, -0.056; P < 0.001). These changes were not significant for BMI-Z (WMD -0.020; CI -0.061, 0.021; P = 0.340). In dose-response meta-analysis, a non-linear association was reported between the duration of intervention and BMI (P  < 0.001) as well as BMI-Z (P  = 0.023). In subgroup analysis, the more favorite results were observed for 5-10years old, with combination of physical activity and diet as intervention materials. In conclusion, the obesity prevention policies in short-term periods of less than 2years, in rather early age of school with approaches of change in both of diet and physical activity, could be more effective in prevention of childhood obesity. Trial registration PROSPERO registration number CRD42019138359.In conclusion, the obesity prevention policies in short-term periods of less than 2 years, in rather early age of school with approaches of change in both of diet and physical activity, could be more effective in prevention of childhood obesity. Its prevention is one of the major interventions in reducing maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. The ownership, utilization and predictors of use of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) for malaria prevention among women attending antenatal clinic (ANC) at a tertiary hospital in Bayelsa State Nigeria was assessed. A cross-sectional study of 297 women recruited through systematic sampling was carried out. Information on sociodemographic characteristics, ownership, source and utilization of LLINs, were collected with a pre-tested structured interviewer-administered questionnaire. The relationship between use of LLIN and sociodemographic characteristics was examined using chi square and logistic regression at 5% level of significance. The mean age of respondents was 28.8 ± 2.6years. Most (59.2%) had tertiary education and were mainly (88.2%) urban dwellers. Two hundred and fifty (84.
