During the COVID-19 pandemic, the high workload, risk of infection, and safety issues for family members may pose a threat to the mental health of healthcare workers (HCWs) working in hospital settings. The study aimed to find out the prevalence of anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms were among HCWs, as well as the factors related to these mental health issues. We conducted an online survey of HCWs employed in Dhaka city from June 6 to July 6, 2020. Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate in vivo Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia were measured using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder, the depression module of the Patient Health Questionnaire, and the Insomnia Severity Index, respectively. The related factors of anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms were identified using three regression models. This research included responses from 294 HCWs (mean ± standard deviation age 28.86 ± 5.5 years; 43.5% were female). Anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms were found in 20.7%, 26.5%, and 44.2% of HCWs, respectively. The variable fina group being associated with increased mental distress. Increasing financial support for HCWs and providing support to female workers in care facilities could help to alleviate the burden of mental illness. Supportive, training, and educational strategies, particularly through knowledge and communication platforms, could be recommended to the care facilities, which can reduce the burden of mental health symptoms among HCWs.Graphene-based polymer composites are gaining interest as a modish class of substance that holds promising angles on diverse applications. In this work, Graphene Oxide (GO) based Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) nanocomposites (PVA-GO) have been prepared by employing a facile solution casting method. Low concentrations of GO nanofiller (0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, and 1.0%) were used and the result of the use of them over the distinct substantial characteristics of the nanocomposites was evaluated. The different features of the as-synthesized nanocomposites such as optical, structural, chemical, and thermal properties were identified by UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively. From the structural analysis of the crystallinity of the nanocomposite it is evident that a reduction in crystallinity caused by the amalgamation of the GO nanofiller. FTIR study shows improved interaction between the GO nanofiller and PVA matrix. The incorporation of GO was found to reduce the optical band gap of the nanocomposite both for the direct and indirect transition. The Urbach energy of the nanocomposite increases with the increase of the GO concentration suggests the formation of localized states causing a reduction in the optical band gap. PVA-GO nanocomposites with improved and tunable physical properties synthesized from a simple and economic route may pave a new horizon for polymer-based optoelectronic devices. Normal-Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) is a neurological condition which is made up of a clinical triad of gait disturbance, dementia and urinary incontinence and can be reversed by ventricular shunting. Currently, some guidelines suggest the use of Evans' index (EI) for diagnosis of hydrocephalus radiologically. Most of the studies are based on the Western population data. None of these studies have been performed in the Ghanaian population setting yet. The aim of this study was to quantitatively establish normal borderline value for Evans Index in the Ghanaian adult population with respect to age and sex. This study was retrospectively conducted on normal enhanced head CT scan images of 266 males and 241 females. EI was calculated as the linear ratio of Maximum Anterior Horn Width (MAHW) of the frontal horns of the lateral ventricles at the level of foramina of Monroe and the Maximum Intracranial Diameter (MICD) of the inner skull. Student T-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation were used to analyze the dat particularly in resource limited settings. The Pra river catchment in Ghana is adversely affected by perennial flooding from high-intensity rainfall events. To aid in flood management at the catchment, the Gumbel extreme value distribution has been used to estimate the return periods of maxima rainfall, flood, and consecutive dry and wet days (CDD and CWD) for a period of 5 to 100 years. The results revealed an expected increase in maxima rainfall, CDD and CWD. Maxima rainfall favours the south of the catchment while the CDD decreases northward. Furthermore, an increase in the magnitude of CWD observed at the centre of the catchment had a maximum of approximately 30 days for the 100 year return period, while lower flood volumes had a higher recurrence of 50% to 100% for 1 to 2 year return periods. The inclusion of a projected increase in anthropogenic activities and climate factors at the catchment will slightly affect the magnitude of these variables for the various return periods. Nonetheless, the findings in this study will be of essential input to policy implementation of the Integrated Water Resource Management Plan for river catchments in Ghana, West Africa. The limited availability of screening tools for assessing fathers' emotional well-being during the perinatal period warrants the development of a new measure, especially since the existing measurements did not specifically focus on fathers' perinatal experiences. These existing measurements focus on the assessment of clinical symptoms rather than precursors that may negatively impact on perinatal father's well-being. Based on the paternal perinatal conceptual framework, the Multidimensional Paternal Perinatal Scale (MPPS) was developed to identify precursors that contribute to the father's emotional well-being during the perinatal period. This paper examines three steps of measurement development. The first step comprised item development based on the literature and qualitative findings. The second step comprised conducting the qualitative and quantitative judgment analysis of the MPPS content validity. The third step assessed inter-rater reliability. Two versions of the MPPS were developed the antenatal and postnatal versions.
