Stem cells are considered to be one of the greatest potential treatments to cure degenerative diseases. Stem cells injection for knee osteoarthritis (OA) is still a relatively new treatment and has not yet gained popularity. So, the effectiveness, safety and potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for knee OA treatment is worthy to be explored. Explore the effectiveness and safety of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. We collected clinical trials using MSCs as treatment for knee OA (before April 2019), including randomized controlled trials (RCTs), retrospective studies and cohort studies. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and the ClinicalTrials.gov with keywords (Mesenchymal stem cells [MSCs], Knee osteoarthritis, Effectiveness and Safety), and then performed a systematic review and cumulative metaanalysis of all RCTs and retrospective comparative studies. To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of MSC in knee OA treatment, we applied visual analog scale score, Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteo-arthritis Index and adverse events. We included 15 RCTs, two retrospective studies and two cohort studies including a total of 584 knee OA patients in this study. We demonstrated that MSC treatment could significantly decrease visual analog scale in a 12-month follow-up study compared with controls (p This study provided the best available evidence and a wider perspective to MSCs application in the management of knee OA. MSCs therapy will have great translational potential in the clinical treatment of various degenerative diseases once optimum formula and explicit target population are identified. This study provided the best available evidence and a wider perspective to MSCs application in the management of knee OA. Osteoma usually is a solitary lesion, but in patients with Gardner's Syndrome it may be multiple. osteoma may rarely have a parosteal localization. Parosteal osteoma has peculiar radiographic, histologic and clinical features. We describe a case report of a 51- years old man with a bifocal parosteal osteoma of the femur in a non-syndromic patient. This is the first described patient with a bifocal lesion. In literature only 24 cases of paraosteal osteoma are found. Our patient underwent surgery and the lesions were fully excised. At one year follow-up there was no evidence of recurrence.Renal cell cancer (RCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors of the urinary system. MicroRNA-454 (miR-454) has been reported to play an important role in various cancer progressions, such as hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer and glioblastoma. Nevertheless, its effect on RCC still remains unknown. We aimed to investigate the biological function and underlying mechanisms of miR-454 in RCC. The expressions of miR-454 and MECP2 in RCC tissues were assessed using data from TCGA database and our own clinical samples. Functional experiments Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), colony formation, wound healing and Transwell assays were applied to detect the effects of miR-454 and MECP2 in RCC. The interaction between miR-454 and MECP2 was assessed by western blot and luciferase reporter assays. MiR-454 was upregulated in RCC tissues and cell lines compared with matched adjacent normal tissues and the normal kidney tubular epithelial cell line HK-2. MiR-454 inhibition and methyl-CpG binding protein 2 (MECP2) overexpression could both decrease the proliferative, migrative and invasive abilities of RCC cells. Higher expression of miR-454 predicted a poor overall survival (OS) (HR 1.8; P less then 0.05), while MECP2 level was positively related with RCC OS (HR 0.55; P less then 0.05) and disease-free survival (HR 0.56; P less then 0.05). Etoposide Mechanistically, we showed that miR-454 could directly target the downstream gene MECP2. Our findings indicated that miR-454 accelerates RCC progression via suppressing MECP2 expression, which may provide a novel potential target of RCC treatment in the future. Red ginseng contains components, including microelements, vitamins, essential oils, and fatty acids, that can be used in skincare to delay the aging process. We investigated the effects of red ginseng treatment on skin elasticity by assessing cellular stiffness and measuring collagen protein synthesis. Human dermal fibroblasts were treated with red ginseng, and the resulting changes in stiffness were investigated using atomic force microscopy. Cytoskeletal changes and mRNA expression of biomarkers of aging, including that of procollagens I and VII, elastin, and fibrillin-1, were investigated. Collagen in a human skin equivalent treated with red ginseng was visualized via hematoxylin and eosin staining, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. The stiffness of fibroblasts was significantly reduced by treatment with red ginseng concentrations of ≥ 0.8 mg/mL. The ratio of F-actin to G-actin decreased after treatment, which corresponded to a change in fibroblast stiffness. The storage modulus ( ') and loss modulus ( ″) of the skin equivalent were both lowered by red ginseng treatment. This result indicates that the viscoelasticity of the skin equivalent can be restored by red ginseng treatment. The stiffness of fibroblasts was significantly reduced by treatment with red ginseng concentrations of ≥ 0.8 mg/mL. This includes both, an exact analytical expression for the energies of the bound states, and exact analytical expressions for the wavefunctions, which successfully describe quantum particles with mass and spin-0 up to energies comparable to the energy associated to the mass of the particle. These quasi-relativistic atomic orbitals may be used for improving ab-initio software packages dedicated to numerical simulations in physical-chemistry and atomic and solid-state physics.
