They have been widely used for planning and post-hoc evaluation, but seldom to inform and guide mid-course adjustments to intervention and implementation strategies. Materials and Methods This study developed an innovative methodology using the RE-AIM framework and related tools to guide mid-course assessments and adaptations across five diverse health services improvement projects in the Veterans Health Administration (VA). Using a semi-structured guide, project team members were asked to assess the importance of and progress on each RE-AIM dimension (i.e., reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, maintenance) at the current phase of their project. Based on these ratings, each team identified one or two RE-AIM dimensions for focused attention. Teams developed proximal goals and implementation strategies to improve progress on their selected dimension(s). A follow-up meeting with each team occurred aiterative use of RE-AIM to support adjustments during project implementation proved feasible and useful across diverse projects in the VA setting. At the same time, the limited number of informal and professional caregivers available to support this rapidly growing population is of mounting concern. Not only does population aging limit the number of potential caregivers, but extant caregivers often lack skills to provide quality care. The integration of intelligent assistive technologies (IAT), including devices, robotics and sensors in many forms, into eldercare, may offer opportunities to reduce caregiver burden and enhance healthcare services while improving the quality of life among older adults with mild to severe cognitive deficits. However, many caregivers and their care recipients lack access to these technologies. The reasons for this reduced access are multifactorial, including the digital divide, sociocultural factors, and technological literacy. This mini review investigates the emerging use of IAT available to caregivers and older adults with cognitive deficits and explores the challenges in socioeconomic status and technological literacy as well as ethical and legal implications that should be considered in the design and development of IAT for older adults with cognitive deficits. Drawing from existing literature, it will suggest frameworks for design and adoption aimed at increased and equitable access for this vulnerable population.Introduction Despite the important role that faith-based organizations can play in eliminating health disparities, few studies have focused on organizational change and maintenance of interventions in this setting, making their long-term impact unknown. This study reports 24-month maintenance of the Faith, Activity, and Nutrition (FAN) program in a southeastern county. Previously reported findings of reach, adoption, implementation, and effectiveness are also summarized. Methods Church coordinators from 35 intervention churches (97% predominantly African American) located in a rural, medically underserved county in South Carolina were interviewed at baseline (2015), and 12- and 24-months post-training regarding implementation of physical activity (PA) and healthy eating (HE) components of the FAN program. Guided by the RE-AIM framework, organizational maintenance was defined as church coordinator-reported 24-month implementation of the four FAN components (providing opportunities, setting guidelines/policies, sharing messages, engaging pastor). Repeated measures analyses (mixed models) examined change in implementation over time. Churches were also classified as maintainers, non-sustained implementers, and low implementers for each FAN component. Statistical analyses were conducted in 2019. Results Church coordinators reported significantly greater implementation of both PA and HE FAN components at 12 and 24 months compared to baseline (medium to large effects). The percentage of churches classified as maintainers ranged from 21 to 42 and 27 to 94% across PA and HE components, respectively. Most churches (58% for PA, 97% for HE) were maintaining at least one FAN component at 24 months. Conclusions These promising findings position FAN well for the national implementation study now underway. Some researchers have put a focus on the association between organizational support and work engagement. However, little has been done concerning the mediating effect of psychological capital (PsyCap) on the association between perceived organizational support (POS) and work engagement (vigor, dedication, absorption) among Chinese doctors. Methods A cross-sectional study has been carried out from November to December in 2017, in Liaoning Province, China. The questionnaire consists of Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, and demographic and working variables. The self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 1,009 doctors. Effective responses were collected from 836 participants (82.85%). Hierarchical multiple regression and the asymptotic and resampling strategies were used to examine the association between POS and work engagement mediated by PsyCap.
