Ecchymosis of the limb is commonly seen after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) when using anticoagulants for thromboprophylaxis, but it is unknown which factors may predispose patients to an increased risk. The aim of this study was to evaluate risk factors for ecchymosis in patients receiving rivaroxaban after TKA. A retrospective, single-centre cohort analysis was conducted. Stem Cells activator The electronic medical records of patients admitted to the Department of Orthopedics during January 2018 to December 2019 and who received rivaroxaban 10mg daily after TKA were reviewed for documentation of ecchymosis. Baseline demographics, laboratory values and surgical information were included for analysing their relationship with ecchymosis. A total of 227 patients were included in the study. Among them, 54 patients (23.8%) developed ecchymosis, and 173 did not. The ecchymosis group had a higher proportion of patients with a body weight >60kg [83.33% vs. 50.00%, p=0.0004] and hypertension [61.11% vs 41.46%, p=0.0304]. A comprehensive search for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating efficacy and safety of interleukin-17 inhibitors was performed through PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases. Quality assessment was performed using the Cochrane Collaboration risk of bias tool. Data were pooled using the fixed or random-effects models. Twenty RCTs were identified of these 9 studies on patients with AS and 11 studies on patients with PsA. Although it has been proposed that elements of the GM can be used as biomarkers for the early diagnosis of HCC, whether metabolic syndrome results in a misrepresentation of the results of the early diagnosis of HCC using GM remains unclear. We compared the differences in the faecal microbiota of 10 patients with primary HCC, six patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), seven patients with arterial hypertension, six patients with both HCC and T2DM, and 10 patients with both HCC and arterial hypertension, as well as 10 healthy subjects, using high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA gene amplicons. Our results revealed a significant difference in the GM between subjects with and without HCC. The 49 bacterial genera out of the 494 detected genera were significantly different between the groups. These results show that changes in the GM can be used to distinguish between subjects with and without HCC, and can resist interference of T2DM and arterial hypertension with the GM.
