To verify the effects of the Speech-Language Intervention with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in communicative acts in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a longitudinal case-study design involving three subjects attended in a Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinic School. Primary data were obtained from the observation of recorded videos of pre and post-intervention therapist assessment sessions with each child in play activities, while secondary data come from interviews with parents. The analysis was performed based on the Pragmatic Test of the Infant Language Test - ABFW, through observational recordings, aiming to identify and quantify the communicative acts. It was possible to observe a 51.47% increase in the production of communicative acts in the three research subjects. In addition, it was found that there was higher quality in the acts produced, using more present verbal components and decreased acts that had non-interpersonal functions, such as gestures and vocal acts. Thus, there was an evolution in the functional language of the subjects. The use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication in the SLP therapy clinic is promising and effective in promoting the development of communication skills of individuals with ASD.The use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication in the SLP therapy clinic is promising and effective in promoting the development of communication skills of individuals with ASD. The aim of this study was to identify the most typical and relevant categories of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) for patients with 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome. Based on the Delphi technique an expert survey through e-mail was performed among health professionals' specialists in the 22q11.2DS. Data were collected in 2 rounds. Answers were analysed for the degree of consensus. 7 Experts recruited through e-mail distribution lists of professional organizations and personal networks participated in the study. Categories in all ICF components that were considered typical and/or relevant by at least 80% of the responders were added to a pilot ICF instrument for children with 22q11.2DS, with a total of 145 ICF categories. a list of ICF categories that are considered relevant and typical for 22q11.2DS condition by international experts was created. Participants were 10 primary caregivers of deaf children/adolescents between 10 and 19 years old. The collection took place in November 2017, through semi-structured interviews containing questions about the communication process of deaf children/adolescents with their families. The information was analyzed through thematic analysis. The study was submitted and approved by the Ethics Committee under opinion number 2.333.560. as the main theme of the study "Interaction between the family and the child/adolescent with hearing impairment", it addresses two sub-themes potentialities and weaknesses in the communication of the family with the child/adolescent with hearing impairment and learning in the care of the child/adolescent with hearing impairment. it was identified that the interaction of the deaf with the family and society is impaired by people's lack of knowledge about the deaf community and the Brazilian Sign Language, which raises concern in caregivers who often overprotect the child/adolescent which may limit the full development of their skills and autonomy.it was identified that the interaction of the deaf with the family and society is impaired by people's lack of knowledge about the deaf community and the Brazilian Sign Language, which raises concern in caregivers who often overprotect the child/adolescent which may limit the full development of their skills and autonomy. to analyze the postural balance of independent elderly women and their relation with aspects of health, ages and quality of life. a total of 44 independent elderly women, classified according to the scales Index of Independence in Daily Life Activities (DLA) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Life (IADL), aged 70.5 years (+6.64), submitted to the Foam-Laser Dynamic Posturography were used to evaluate the vestibular, proprioceptive and visual functions; the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) questionnaire on subjects with dizziness and the WHOQOL-Bref quality of life questionnaire. the tests showed a significant difference between the changes in the posturographic evaluation and health aspects such as dizziness complaint (p = 0.02), metabolic diseases (p = 0.04), cardiovascular diseases (p = 0.02) and with the use of continuous medication (p = 0.03), self-reported. The older women presented lower scores in the functional domain of the DHI (p=0.02), showing a lower handicap in activities of daily living and the longer the quality of life in the WHOQOL-Bref psychological domain (p=0.04). the presence of dizziness and systemic diseases had a negative impact on postural balance and on the quality of life of the elderly women.the presence of dizziness and systemic diseases had a negative impact on postural balance and on the quality of life of the elderly women.SARS-CoV-2 shares nearly 80% of its' genomic sequence with SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, both viruses known to cause respiratory symptoms and liver impairment. The emergence of pediatric cases of multisystem inflammatory syndrome related to the SARS-CoV-2 infection (PIM-TS) has raised concerns over the issue of hepatic damage and liver enzyme elevation in the critically ill pediatric population with COVID-19. Some retrospective cohorts and case series have shown various degrees of ALT/AST elevation in SARS-CoV-2 infections. A limited number of liver histopathological studies are available that show focal hepatic periportal necrosis. This liver damage was associated with higher levels of inflammatory markers, C-reactive protein (CRP), and pro-calcitonin. Proposed pathophysiological mechanisms include an uncontrolled exacerbated inflammatory response, drug-induced liver injury, direct viral infection and damage to cholangiocytes, hypoxic-ischemic lesions, and micro-thrombosis in the liver. Based on the physiopathological characteristics described, our group proposes a clinical protocol for the surveillance, evaluation, management, and follow-up of critically ill pediatric COVID-19 patients with liver damage.
