Background We aimed to assess the feasibility of using multiple technologies to recruit and conduct cognitive interviews among young people across the United States to test items measuring sexual and reproductive empowerment. We sought to understand whether these methods could achieve a diverse sample of participants. this website With more researchers turning to approaches that maintain social distancing in the context of COVID-19, it has become more pressing to refine these remote research methods. Methods We used several online sites to recruit for and conduct cognitive testing of survey items. To recruit potential participants we advertised the study on the free online bulletin board, Craigslist, and the free online social network, Reddit. Interested participants completed an online Qualtrics screening form. To maximize diversity, we purposefully selected individuals to invite for participation. We used the video meeting platform, Zoom, to conduct the cognitive interviews. The interviewer opened a document with the itfacilitated the inclusion of individuals who would not volunteer for in-person meetings. Disadvantages of video interviewing included participant challenges to finding a private space for the interview and problems with electronic devices. Conclusions Online technologies can be used to achieve a diverse sample of research participants, contributing to research findings that better respond to young people's unique identities and situations. Background Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, is an important fish in European freshwater aquaculture. This industry sector is dominated by small family-owned enterprises located in rural areas. A large percentage of rainbow trout produced by these small enterprises is marketed directly and killed on demand and not processed in commercial processing plants. EU and national regulations stipulate that fish shall be stunned prior to killing and slaughter. The overall objective of this study was to monitor how stunning interventions were integrated into the production chains of German conventional trout aquaculture in order to safeguard animal welfare during stunning and killing. For this, the stunning and slaughtering processes were monitored on 18 rainbow trout farms in various German federal states. During the on-farm research, (i) the stunning success, (ii) injuries related to the stunning procedure, (iii) duration between stunning and killing, and (iv) visible responses at the time of slaughtering were assemal welfare during stunning and killing of rainbow trout in conventional production processes, the stunning process requires careful attention and the operating personnel need to be trained in using the stunning devices and recognising indicators of consciousness. Background A sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor had favorable impact on the attenuation of hyperglycemia together with the severity of heart failure. However, the effects of acute dapagliflozin administration at the time of cardiac ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury are not established. Methods The effects of dapagliflozin on cardiac function were investigated by treating cardiac I/R injury at different time points. Cardiac I/R was instigated in forty-eight Wistar rats. These rats were then split into 4 interventional groups control, dapagliflozin (SGLT2 inhibitor, 1 mg/kg) given pre-ischemia, at the time of ischemia and at the beginning of reperfusion. Left ventricular (LV) function and arrhythmia score were evaluated. The hearts were used to evaluate size of myocardial infarction, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, cardiac mitochondrial dynamics and function. Results Dapagliflozin given pre-ischemia conferred the maximum level of cardioprotection quantified through the decrease in arrhythmia, attenuated infarct size, decreased cardiac apoptosis and improved cardiac mitochondrial function, biogenesis and dynamics, leading to LV function improvement during cardiac I/R injury. Dapagliflozin given during ischemia also showed cardioprotection, but at a lower level of efficacy. Conclusions Acute dapagliflozin administration during cardiac I/R injury exerted cardioprotective effects by attenuating cardiac infarct size, increasing LV function and reducing arrhythmias. These benefits indicate its potential clinical usefulness. Background Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. Since 2008, Mwanza, Tanzania, has worked to provide comprehensive cancer services through its Zonal consultant hospital. New national guidelines focused on clinical breast exam requires that women be aware of and seek care for breast concerns. Therefore, this study aims to understand breast cancer awareness in Mwanza and describe women-level barriers, care-seeking behavior, and perspectives on breast cancer. Methods A community-based survey was administered to conveniently sampled women aged 30 and older to assess women's perspectives on breast cancer and care-seeking behavior. Results Among 1129 women with a median age of 37 (IQR 31-44) years, 73% have heard of cancer and 10% have received breast health education. Women self-evaluated their knowledge of breast cancer (from 1-none to 10-extremely knowledgeable) with a median response of 3 (IQR 1-4). Only 14% felt they knew any signs or symptoms of breast cancer. Encouragingly, 56% of womenk care if they noticed a change in their breasts, but the low levels of cancer knowledge, symptoms, and common risk factors highlight the need for targeted community education and awareness campaigns. Background Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a group of clinical syndromes associated with substantial morbidity and mortality rate. SYNTAX and SYNTAX II score used to be a reference for surgical selection of coronary revascularization and prognosis evaluation in patients with 3-vessel or left main artery disease. In addition, apoB/apoA1 is an important predictor of ACS risk. This study aims to assess the prognosis value of different kinds of SYNTAX score together with apoB/apoA1 in universal ACS patients (Regardless of ACS type, lesion location and vessel numbers). Method Three hundred ninety-six patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and coronary stenting from 2013 to 2014 were chosen and recorded the major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) and quality of life during the next 5 years. According to SYNTAX and SYNTAX II score, the patients were divided into low-risk, medium-risk and high-risk groups, and the clinical features, MACCE incidence and EQ-5D score at each time points were compared.
