The mean stromal Ki67 staining score was significantly lower in the study group (1.67 ± 0.58 and 2.5 ± 0.55 respectively, < .05). TUNEL staining demonstrated no difference in stromal apoptosis rates between both groups. We provide evidence for the first time that perinatal hypoxia causes premature activation and growth initiation of dormant follicles. These changes were associated with decreased stromal cell proliferation, suggesting hypoxia-induced impairment of the support cell pool as a possible mechanism for accelerated follicular activation. We provide evidence for the first time that perinatal hypoxia causes premature activation and growth initiation of dormant follicles. An aspect of increased interest is the possible effect of PE on the mammary gland (and therefore on breast milk composition) considering that a mother's own milk is always considered the first choice for the nutrition of all neonates. Human milk (HM) is a unique food believed to contain biological factors involved in both short and long-term benefits. This article aims to review the published papers on this topic and to offer additional insights on the role of this gestational pathology on the composition of HM.Materials and methods This review was performed by searching the MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINHAL, and Cochrane Library databases. Results A total of 15 articles were selected. Conclusions Overall, the findings from the literature suggest that PE can alter the composition of HM milk. Nevertheless, the number of studies in this field are scarce, and the related protocols present some limitation, for example, evaluating the variability of just a few specific milk biochemical markers in association with this syndrome. Insufficient asthma education is an unmet need in Nigeria. We aimed to assess the feasibility of a nurse-led asthma education program and its effect on asthma knowledge and outcomes in Lagos, Nigeria. Using a quasi-experimental study design, we recruited participants ≥12 years with physician diagnosed asthma. We assessed asthma knowledge, asthma control, medication adherence, health related quality of life and inhaler technique and also measured lung function. A trained nurse delivered asthma education sessions during the regular clinic visits and demonstrated correct inhaler technique. All assessments were repeated at 3-month. Data was analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. A -value of <0.05 was considered significant for all associations. Of the 80 participants at baseline, 42 (52.5%) completed the follow-up assessment and were included in the outcome analysis. Their ages ranged from 12 to 75 years, 35 (83.3%) were ≥18 years old and 30 (71.4%) were females. There was significant imeliver effective asthma education during regular clinic visits in our practice setting. This training could meaningfully improve asthma control and health related quality of life.Human service professionals (HSPs) play important roles in supporting victims of sexual violence. When these professionals work together in various forms of collaboration, attitudes of professionals in different fields can sometimes facilitate or sometimes hinder collaboration. The effect of attitude can be further highlighted when HSPs collaborate with experts with different fields of sexual violence, such as police officers. This study examined the difference in the attitudes toward interprofessional collaboration and victims of sexual violence between HSPs and police officers in South Korea. Then, the effect of such attitudes on the degree of interprofessional collaboration was analyzed. Survey data were collected from 174 HSPs and 65 police officers at 34 hospital-based Sunflower Centers across South Korea. Results showed that HSPs had a more positive attitude toward the benefits of interprofessional collaboration, and had a less negative attitude toward victims of sexual violence, than police officers. The results further confirmed that collaboration can be strengthened by actively fostering interprofessional work and reducing prejudice against the victims. selleck compound Based on these results, practical implications to promote the degree of interprofessional collaboration are suggested.Introduction Despite recent therapeutic advances, lung cancer remains the primary cause of cancer deaths worldwide, and early lung mortality was poorly studied.Area covered Early lung-cancer mortality reflects local therapy (surgery or radiotherapy) impact (localized forms), and metastatic disease evolution, comorbidities and healthcare-system accessibility. The definition of early lung cancer mortality is not consensual; thresholds range from 1 to 12 months post-diagnosis. This systematic review was undertaken to identify and analyze factors significantly associated with early lung cancer mortality. Age, male sex, non-adenocarcinoma histology, advanced stage at diagnosis and ECOG performance status are the main clinical factors of early lung cancer mortality. Active/ex-smoking also seems to favor early mortality, despite heterogeneous definitions of smoker status. For radio-chemotherapy treated locally advance disease, the early mortality rate increases according to tumor volume. Less well studied, socioeconomic characteristics (rurality and social deprivation index) yielded contradictory results, partially because definitions vary over studies. However, early lung cancer mortality is significantly higher for lower socioeconomic class patients.Expert opinion Prospective, observational, general population studies are needed to better evaluate early lung-cancer mortality. International consensus concerning the patient-, disease- or healthcare system-linked factors of interest to be collected would facilitate comparisons among countries.
