We used 18F-florbetapir (AV-45) PET images of the brains of 207 cognitively normal subjects (CN1), obtained through the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), to identify the healthy aging pattern and 76 cognitively normal healthy subjects (CN2), obtained through the Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, Beijing, China, to verify it. A voxel-based correlation analysis of standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) map image and age was conducted using the DPABI (Data Processing & Analysis of Brain Imaging) software to identify the pattern. The sum of squares due to errors (SSE), R-square (R2) and the root-mean-square error (RMSE) were calculated to assess the quality of curve fitting. Among them, R2 was proposed as the coherence coefficient, which was as an index to assess the correlation between SUVR value of the pattern and subjects' age. The pattern characterized by age-associated longitudinal changes of Aβ deposition was mainly distributed in the right middle and inferior temporal gyrus, the right temporal pole middle temporal gyrus, the right inferior occipital gyrus, the right inferior frontal gyrus (triangular portion), and the right precentral gyrus. There were a significant positive correlation between the SUVR value of the pattern and age for each CN group (CN1 R2 = 0.120, p less then 0.001 for quadratic model; CN2 R2 = 0.152, p = 0.002 for quadratic model). These findings suggest a pattern of changes in Aβ deposition that can be used to distinguish physiological changes from pathophysiological changes, constituting a new method for elucidating the neuropathological mechanism of Alzheimer's disease.Background and Aims Gut microbiota recolonization after intestinal resection had been reported to be associated with post-operative recurrence in Crohn's disease (CD). However, the results of different studies are inconsistent and even contradictory. In addition, knowledge on the efficacy of microbial-based therapies in preventing post-operative recurrence of CD is limited. Therefore, the aim of this review was to investigate gut microbiota profiles in patients with CD before and after surgery and evaluate microbial-based therapies in preventing post-operative recurrence. Methods Electronic databases were searched from inception to 31 June 2020 using predefined terms. Studies that investigated gut microbiota pre- and post-intestinal resection, and microbial-based therapies in preventing post-operative recurrence, were eligible. Study quality was assessed using either the Newcastle-Ottawa scale or Jadad scoring system. Results Twelve studies investigating gut microbiota of CD patients suffering from operation,urrence should be validated with larger sample sizes using more rigorous and standardized methodologies.The aim of this retrospective study was to describe the vascular features in eyes with Coats disease, using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), at baseline and after 3 monthly intravitreal injections of ranibizumab. Fifteen eyes of 15 consecutive patients affected by Coats' disease were recruited in this study. All patients underwent the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) evaluation, fundus examination, fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), multicolor imaging, structural Spectral Domain (SD)-OCT and OCTA at baseline and 1 month after the third monthly ranibizumab injection (loading phase). Fifteen patients completed the study, of whom nine were males and six females. Mean age was 20.4 ± 2 years. BCVA was 0.46 ± 0.11 logMar and 0.47 ± 0.12 logMar at baseline and after treatment, respectively (p = 0.164). SD-OCT revealed no significant decrease in central macular thickness (486.33 μm ± 93.37 at baseline vs. 483.4 μm ± 80.97 after treatment; p = 0.915). The subretinal exudates persisted in macular region after intravitreal injections. OCTA showed a general vascular rarefaction in superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP), and choriocapillary (CC) that did not change after loading phase. This study showed no functional and vascular improvement following 3 monthly ranibizumab injections. OCTA, non-invasive technique, could be useful during follow up of these patients and provide a better understand of pathogenesis of this disorder.A three-dimensional (3D) deep learning method is proposed, which enables the rapid diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and thus significantly reduces the burden on radiologists and physicians.
