In the field of pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR), the zero velocity update (ZUPT) method with an inertial measurement unit (IMU) is a mature technology to calibrate dead reckoning. However, due to the complex walking modes of different individuals, it is essential and challenging to determine the ZUPT conditions, which has a direct and significant influence on the tracking accuracy. In this research, we adopted an adaptive zero velocity update (AZUPT) method based on convolution neural networks to classify the ZUPT conditions. The AZUPT model was robust regardless of the different motion types of various individuals. AZUPT was then implemented on the Zynq-7000 SoC platform to work in real time to validate its computational efficiency and performance superiority. Extensive real-world experiments were conducted by 60 different individuals in three different scenarios. It was demonstrated that the proposed system could work equally well in different environments, making it portable for PDR to be widely performed in various real-world situations.Tibial hemimelia is a rare congenital deficiency with a wide spectrum of pathology and deformity. This paper aims to give a comprehensive review of tibial hemimelia, with a concise summary of the history, pathology, and clinical findings of tibial hemimelia, while providing treatment recommendations and a review of the current literature. 2'-C-Methylcytidine cell line Classifications and surgical treatments are discussed, including amputation, limb reconstruction, and lengthening. Type-specific treatments are also discussed, including staged distraction correction of joint contractures of knee and ankle, Weber patelloplasty, fibular centralization, knee and ankle arthrodesis, implantable articulated distractors, and the role of femoral shortening. Amputation is a simpler and easier solution for many patients; however, reconstruction options continue to evolve, improve, and provide better functional outcomes in many cases. Factors favoring surgical reconstruction include the presence of a knee joint/proximal tibia, and the presence of a patella and quadriceps mechanism. The aim of the study was to assess the antioxidant potential of goat's milk and whey from goat's milk fermented with selected bacteria strains from kefir grain (L. plantarum, L. fermentum, L. rhamnosus and L. acidophilus) with regard to fermented cow's milk with the same bacteria strains. The assessment of antioxidant potential was made by ABTS, DPPH, TPC and FRAP methods. The work also assessed metabolic activity of tested lactic acid bacteria using measurement of electrical impedance changes in the growing medium. The highest values describing the antioxidant potential were found for fermented milk by L. acidophilus. It was also found that the time of cooling storage causes significantly increasing the antioxidant potential of most analyzed samples. Metabolic activity of tested lactic acid bacteria was the highest for cow's milk. The course of curves for goat's milk and whey from goat's milk was similar, which confirms the differences between cow and goat milk.Peanut oil is favored by consumers due to its rich nutritional value and unique flavor. This study used headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) combined with gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to examine the differences in the peanut oil aroma on the basis of variety, roasting temperatures, and pressing components. The results revealed that the optimal conditions for extracting peanut oil were achieved through the use of 50/30 μm DVB/CAR/PDMS fibers at 60 °C for 50 min. The primary compounds present in peanut oil were pyrazines. When peanuts were roasted, the temperature raised from 120 °C to 140 °C and the content of aldehydes in peanut oil increased; however, the content of aldehydes in No. 9 oil at 160 °C decreased. The components of peanut shell oil varied depending on the peanut variety. The most marked difference was observed in terms of the main compound at the two roasting temperatures. This compound was a pyrazine, and the content increased with the roasting temperature in hekei oils. When the roasting temperature was lower, No. 9 oil contained more fatty acid oxidation products such as hexanal, heptanal, and nonanal. When the roasting temperature increased, No. 9 oil contained more furfural and 5-methylfurfural. Heren oil was easier to oxidize and produced nonanal that possessed a fatty aroma.Multiple head and neck paragangliomas (HNPGLs) are neuroendocrine tumors of a mostly benign nature that can be associated with a syndrome, precipitated by the presence of a germline mutation. Familial forms of the disease are usually seen with mutations of SDHx genes, especially the SDHD gene. SDHB mutations are predisposed to malignant tumors. We found 6 patients with multiple tumors amongst 30 patients with HNPGLs during the period of 2016 to 2021. We discuss the phenotypic and genetic patterns in our patients with multiple HNPGLs and explore the management possibilities related to the disease. Fifty percent of our patients had incidental findings of HNPGLs. Twenty-one biochemically silent tumors were found. Four patients had germline mutations, and only one had a positive family history. Three out of five underwent surgery without permanent complications. Preventative measures (genetic counselling and tumor surveillance) represent the gold standard in effectively controlling the disease in index patients and their relatives. In terms of treatment, apart from surgical and radiotherapeutic interventions, new therapeutic measures such as gene targeted therapy have contributed very sparsely. With the lack of standardized protocols, management of patients with multiple HNPGLs still remains very challenging, especially in those with sporadic or malignant forms of the disease.Chronical exposures to biological, chemical and physical stressors can be particularly detrimental during the early phase of embryonic development, increasing the risk of brain dysfunctions after birth [...].Oral cancer (OC) is a deadly disease with a high mortality and complex etiology. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the outstanding innovations in technology used in dental science. This paper intends to report on the application and performance of AI in diagnosis and predicting the occurrence of OC. In this study, we carried out data search through an electronic search in several renowned databases, which mainly included PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, and the Saudi Digital Library for articles that were published between January 2000 to March 2021. We included 16 articles that met the eligibility criteria and were critically analyzed using QUADAS-2. AI can precisely analyze an enormous dataset of images (fluorescent, hyperspectral, cytology, CT images, etc.) to diagnose OC. AI can accurately predict the occurrence of OC, as compared to conventional methods, by analyzing predisposing factors like age, gender, tobacco habits, and bio-markers. The precision and accuracy of AI in diagnosis as well as predicting the occurrence are higher than the current, existing clinical strategies, as well as conventional statistics like cox regression analysis and logistic regression.
