Finally, we discuss how the knowledge gained from past domestication processes, together with emerging technologies, could be exploited to improve modern crop breeding and domesticate new crops to meet increasing human demands. The objective of this study was to determine if there has been an increase in the age of diagnosis of cervical cancer over time, specifically in the proportion of patients over 65 years old, given decreasing rates of hysterectomy. A retrospective review of a single institution was conducted including cervical cancer patients seen between 1986 and 2016. Data included demographic variables including age of diagnosis, last cervical cancer screening, and cancer information. Cochran-Armitage test was used to assess temporal trends in the proportion of patients diagnosed over 65. A total of 1,019 patients with cervical cancer were reviewed, of whom 116 were over the age of 65. The age of diagnosis increased by 0.2 years per calendar year, with an average age of diagnosis of 43.7 years old in 1986 versus 49.5 years old in 2016 (p<0.01). The proportion of patients diagnosed with cervical cancer over the age of 65 did not significantly differ over time (17.2 % in 1986 vs. 14.8 % in 2016, p=0.39). 19.0 % of women diagnosed with cervical cancer over the age of 65 developed cancer despite exiting screening appropriately. Cardiotocography (CTG) has its limits in detecting fetal acidosis and intrapartum asphyxia. Our aim was to evaluate a CTG training programme based on fetal physiology in the Mediterranean perinatal network. Professionals from 41 maternity units of the Mediterranean network were invited to participate in a CTG masterclass based on fetal physiology in March 2019 and October 2019. They were asked to react to three practical cases by a physiological approach before the training course (T0), one month after (T1) and six to seven months after (T2). The mean scores were compared by using a mixed model including lapse of time to evaluation, profession of participants and level of the maternity unit as fixed effects. A total of 248 professionals from 32 maternity units finally participated in the organizational audit. By using a mixed model, we found a significant improvement of the mean score at T1 = 6.44/10 compared to T0 = 4.97/10 (p < 0.0001), and a significant improvement of the mean score obtained at T2 = 6.17/10 compared to T0 (p < 0.0001). JAK inhibitor T2 scores were not significantly different from T1 scores (p = 0.143). Status of the flap after surgery often is uncertain. The current study evaluated the status of the ILM flap after MH surgery with superior wide-base ILM flap transposition (SWIFT). Retrospective consecutive case series. Eyes undergoing SWIFT for MH. Data were collected on demographic characteristics, preoperative and postoperative visual acuity (VA), and MH status. OCT and indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence were used to evaluate the MH and the ILM flap status. Status of MH, ILM flap position, and ILM flap integrity. Seventeen eyes of 17 patients with a mean age of 65.3 years and mean follow-up of 11.6 months were included in the study. Thirteen eyes had 1 or more high-risk characteristics. Four eyes (24%) were highly myopic, 6 eyes (35%) had chronic MH, and 3 eyes (18%) had a history of prior MH surgery and ILM removal. The mean MH basal diameter was 899.4 μm and the mean inner diameter was 516.1 MHs, including persistent MHs with previously removed ILM. After surgery, the ILM flap may be visualized by ICG fluorescence imaging. After SWIFT, ICG imaging indicates that the ILM flap is intact and in a good position in most cases.The intensity of a stimulus has been found to have a distinct impact upon response processes (e.g., response speed, response force, & response selection). For instance, reaction times are faster to bright than to dim stimuli (e.g., Kohfeld, 1971). In the present study, we investigated the possible influence of stimulus intensity on binding processes. According to binding theories, stimulus and response features are integrated together in short-lived memory traces, called event files (Hommel, 1998). Any re-encounter with one of these integrated features leads to the automatic retrieval of the previously constructed event file and thus of the response. Thereby bindings between stimuli (relevant and irrelevant) and responses have a direct impact on behavior. In the present experiment, we presented distractors with increasing stimulus intensity and found that intensity did exert an influence on binding processes. However, our results suggest that distractor intensity per se has no direct influence on the binding effect (the more intense a distractor is, the larger the binding effect), but that distractor intensity has an indirect effect on binding via grouping due to similarity between target and distractor intensity.We explore dance video clip stimuli as a means to test human observers' accuracy in detecting genuine emotional expressivity in full-body movements. Stimuli of every-day-type full-body expressions of emotions usually use culturally very recognizable actions (e.g. fist shaking for anger, etc). However, expressive dance movement stimuli can be created to contain fully abstract movements. The expressivity results from subtle variations in the body movements of the expressor, and emotions cannot be recognised by observers via particular actions (e.g. fist shaking, etc). Forty-one participants watched and rated 24 pairs of short dance videos -from a published normalised dance stimuli library- in randomised order (N = 48). Of each carefully matched pair, one version of the full-body movement sequence had been danced to be emotionally genuinely expressive (clip a), while the other version of the same sequence (clip b) had been danced -while technically correct- without any emotional expressivity. Participants rated (i) expressivity (to test their accuracy; block 1), and (ii) how much they liked each movement (an implicit measure to test their emotional response ("liking"); block 2).
