observed. There is a need for continuous sensitization to completely fill the knowledge gap of the population on COVID-19. inadequate utilization of maternal health services due to limited reproductive decision-making capacity could be contributory to high maternal mortality in developing countries. AZD9291 cost This study sought to assess nuances of reproductive decisions by women in a rural community of Lagos, Nigeria. this descriptive, cross-sectional house to house survey was part of a study conducted in April 2015 on females selected from 298 households chosen based on geographical clusters by simple random sampling. The study instrument was adapted from a USAID-funded project and was interviewer-administered. Data entry and analysis were performed with the aid of Epi-info™ 7.0.8.3 statistical software and ethical approval was obtained for the study. spousal age difference was less than 10 years for about half (51.3%) of the respondents. The majority (91.6%) of the respondents had received antenatal care during pregnancy and jointly decided with their spouses on place of care. The most commonly used contraceptives were the pills (23.5%), injectables (16.8%) and condoms (13.8%). Spousal disapproval regarding the use of family planning was almost nil at 1%. Employment status as a socio-economic factor did not significantly affect respondents´ involvement in decision-making. However, there were statistically significant associations between spousal age differences and some indicators of autonomy such as respondents´ involvement in health care decisions and the determinant on choice of antenatal care provider. women´s reproductive independence and involvement in health decisions could result in reduction of maternal ill-health and mortality whilst promoting higher male involvement and better maternal health.women´s reproductive independence and involvement in health decisions could result in reduction of maternal ill-health and mortality whilst promoting higher male involvement and better maternal health. the aim of this study was to compare the impacts of all-arthroscopic repair and mini-open repair for rotator cuff tendon tear on post-operative pain, shoulder joint range of motion and physical function. the study was a retrospective comparative analysis of rotator cuff repair between January 2013 and January 2018. The patients included in the study were enrolled into all-arthroscopic surgery or mini-open surgery groups. Patients were assessed with a 10mm visual analog scale for pain in the 7 day post-operatively. The physical function was assessed with Quick Disabilities Arm Shoulder and Hand (DASH) questionnaire at 12 month. The flexion and abduction ROM of the involved site were measured preoperatively and 12 months after the surgery. a total of 40 patients were included in the study. The mean age of the all-arthroscopic surgery group was significantly lower than the open surgery group (46.9±6.9 vs. 52.45±4.0 years). While no complication was seen in the arthroscopic group, 5 patients had superficial infection in the open surgery group. The patients in the all-arthroscopic surgery group experienced significantly less pain in the 7 day of the surgery. Improvement in Quick Dash score and shoulder flexion after surgery were significantly higher in the all-arthroscopic surgery group. None of the patients needed revision surgery in both groups. according to the results of this study, arthroscopically operated patients with rotator cuff tear had less pain in the first week after surgery. Patients in this group had better shoulder flexion and function in long-term follow-up with no post-operative complication.according to the results of this study, arthroscopically operated patients with rotator cuff tear had less pain in the first week after surgery. These atypical forms can imitate other conditions hence delaying the diagnosis and increased morbidity. We report a case of an atypical presentation of extensive Tuberculosis Verrucosa Cutis (TVC) on the buttocks presenting as an annular hyperkeratotic plaque with central healing. Suspicious clinical manifestations and histopathological features followed by an excellent response with antituberculosis therapy confirmed the diagnosis of TVC. Recalcitrant chronic lesions even with adequate standard treatment should raise suspicion of cutaneous TB, especially in endemic areas.Erythema multiforme (EM) is an acute, self-limiting hypersensitivity reaction that ranges from a mild cutaneous, exanthematous variant with minimal oral involvement to a progressive fulminating severe variant with extensive mucocutaneous epithelial necrosis (SJS & TEN). Knowing the etiological spectrum is the key for management in EM where sometimes leads to mortality. There are no specific diagnostic tests for EM, diagnosis is mainly clinically supported. Here in we report series of cases of EM with different etiological spectrum.Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare benign inflammatory mastopathy. Histological examination of the surgical biopsy can confirm the diagnosis and thus exclude carcinomatous mastitis. Although its etiologies are undeterminated and it occurs mainly in young women, its idiopathic nature is confirmed after exclusion of the other causes of granulomatous disease. Medical treatment is based on antibiotic therapy and anti-inflammatory drugs. Patients with complicated forms are treated with surgery. We here report four cases of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis whose data were collected in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University Hospital MED VI of Oujda (Morocco). vaso-occlusive crises (VOCs) are the primary reason for admission and hospitalization in children with sickle cell disease and most often they require home care before arriving to consultation. The purpose of this study was to describe home-based therapy for children with sickle cell disease admitted with VOCs. we conducted a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study, in the pediatric emergencies at the Mother and Child Centre of the Chantal Biya Foundation (CBF) over a 4-month period from February to May 2018. Consecutive sampling was used. All patients with sickle cell disease presenting with VOCs were included in the study. one hundred and fifty-two patients were enrolled. The most represented age group was 5- 10 years. Eighty-two patients (54%) presented more than 24 hours after the onset of the crises and 70 (46%) in the first 24 hours; 80% (n=122) of our sample had received analgesic treatment at home. Escalation of therapy was found in 31.2% of cases. The use of prescription medications (75.
