However, the evidence to support the efficacy of these approaches is limited. We aimed to analyze the efficacy of endovascular coiling compared with surgical clipping in patients with UCAs. METHOD A systematic search of 4 databases was conducted to identify comparative articles involving endovascular coiling and surgical clipping in patients with UCAs. We conducted a meta-analysis using the random-effects model when I> 50%. Otherwise, a meta-analysis using the fixed-effects model was performed. RESULTS Our results showed that endovascular coiling was associated with a shorter length of stay (WMD -4.14, 95% CI (-5.75, -2.531), P  2 between the 2 groups. This study aimed to report a case of primary hepatic pregnancy in a patient with polycystic syndrome. PATIENT CONCERNS A 30-year-old woman presented with vaginal bleeding after 63 days of amenorrhea. DIAGNOSIS The patient was initially diagnosed with liver ectopic pregnancy using abdominal ultrasound and abdominal computed tomography (CT). The postoperative review of abdominal CT and the level of serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) was performed. Although it must be important for prevention and treatment of acute and chronic postoperative pain to reveal the time course of postoperative neuropathic characteristics, a neuropathic pain profile after surgery has not been evaluated.Pain status at the surgical site in adult patients who underwent video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for lung cancer was prospectively assessed until 12 months after surgery. Neuropathic characteristics were assessed using the Douleur Neuropathique 4 (DN4) questionnaire until 6 days after surgery and the DN2 questionnaire throughout the study.Twenty-seven patients were enrolled in this study. Pain intensity at surgical sites were significantly higher at 1 and 6 days after surgery during resting state, and were also significantly higher at 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery during movement than those before surgery. The incidence of ANeP was 33.3% at 1 day, and 18.5% at 6 days after surgery. The incidence of CNeP decreased to 12.5% at 3 months, 5.0% at 6 months, and 0.0% at 12 months after surgery. The number of neuropathic characteristics, assessed by DN2 scores, significantly increased at 1 and 6 days after surgery, compared to those before surgery. DN2 scores at 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery, however, showed no significant differences compared to those before surgery.In patients with acute postsurgical pain, 20% to 30% of patients show ANeP characteristics, and the incidence of CNeP gradually decreases after VATS in patients with chronic postsurgical pain.The effectiveness of vitamin K1 for the treatment of liver failure has been controversial, and no studies have investigated the effect of vitamin K1 on the risk of death and coagulation function in patients with chronic liver failure. This study aimed to explore the effect of vitamin K1 on death risk and international normalized ratio in patients with chronic liver failure.From December 2013 to August 2017, this retrospective cohort study screened patients hospitalized for chronic liver failure (n = 80) who received routine treatment. The patients were categorized into the vitamin K1 and control groups according to whether they had received intramuscular injection of vitamin K1 on the basis of conventional treatment. Baseline data were analyzed with χ test and independent sample t-test; the survival curve of 48 weeks was created with Kaplan-Meier estimator. Correlation between death event and vitamin K1, age, sex, albumin (ALB), total bilirubin (TBIL), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was determined with the Cox proportional risk regression model.
